Ain Dubai Experience
On October 21, 2021, Ain Dubai welcomed visitors for the first time. What is Ain Dubai and why should you visit it? If you’re familiar with the London Eye in England, Ain Dubai is twice its height, making Ain Dubai the tallest observation wheel in the world! How cool is that?
Ain Dubai is also called Dubai Eye Wheel, Dubai Ain, or Dubai Eye Ferris Wheel. It boasts of innovative engineering. It is interesting to note that each spoke on this Ferris Wheel is longer than any professional football pitch. If you lay down all the cable wires inside each spoke, they will measure about 2,400 kilometers. That’s actually how far Dubai is from Cairo!
Can you believe that cable wires can stretch up to Cairo? Not only that, but there were also 9,000 tons of steel used to make the Dubai Eye, which is 25% more than what was used to build the Eiffel Tower!
The Dubai Eye is a showcase of modern European architecture. The high-tech pods were made in Switzerland by Swiss Rides, a project by Hyundai, its main contractor.
This 250-meter-tall giant wheel does not disappoint. You have to see it and experience it to believe it!
First Impressions
As you enter the Ain Dubai building, you’ll already know that you are in for a wonderful surprise. The building itself is a work of art. You will be greeted by a modern reception area with its elegant white façade. The huge columns will quickly draw your attention to the beautiful ceiling. Marvel at the sight of the eye-catching feature called the “chandelier” by the building’s general manager, Ron Drake.
Well, it’s not really a chandelier because there is just the unique transparent section of the ceiling wherein you can see the revolving cabins slowly turning from above as if teasing anyone who walks into their doors on what to expect.
From the reception, you will be led up to the staircase, then through the platform which serves as the entryway to the revolving cabins. You can see through the pods with their glass panels. Each pod is the perfect place for more social-media-worthy pictures. The pods are air-conditioned, as well.
Experience a one-of-a-kind ride. Imagine a single rotation of this now-famous ride that takes about 38 minutes. People from Ain Dubai promptly advise guests to be there 30 minutes before their booking slot because they will have to complete the entry process, plus they can use the time to use the washrooms and buy some snacks.
A Thrilling Experience Aboard the Ain Dubai Cabin
The moment the cabin doors close behind you, it’s really all about relishing the moment and admiring the stunning views of the city.
This giant wheel moves slowly, allowing visitors to marvel at the beauty of the stunning Address Beach Resort and Bluewaters Island. As it smoothly moves up, you begin to see the Jumeirah Beach Residence and the Dubai coastline.
The air-conditioned cabins are comfortable and quite spacious. One cabin pod can accommodate up to a group of 10. The cabins can actually fit more people but the safety regulations for COVID19 are currently in place.
If you are a tourist and you want to see this beautiful city in all its glory, you should visit Ain Dubai. The cabins have glass walls, giving visitors a 360-view of picturesque Dubai. Don’t hesitate to walk around the cabin and view the sights from different vantage points.
And did we tell you how stunning the view is when the pod is at the top of the wheel? Amazing!
When you go for a while on a clear, sunny day, you’ll be able to take a glimpse of the outline of the Palm Jumeirah, down to the Atlantis, then The Palm on the other end. You can also see Burj Al Arab from a distance. You also get to see the sprawling Jumeirah Beach Residence, the boats wading in the waters, and the breath-taking Dubai coastline.
If you have a fear of heights, this is the best way to overcome your fear! Really!
You’ll get a different perspective of the city when you visit as the sun goes down. For one, sunsets are always a remarkable sight, then add to that the stunning Dubai skyline glittering at night. The pristine blue waters that you marvel at during the day turn into an amazing inky black at night. The view of The Palm Jumeirah and JBR complete the experience.
However, if you want to capture the beautiful sights, you should go during the day because the curved glass walls of the cabins do not create excellent night-time shots.
As they say, time flies when you’re having fun because though the rotation is done at a steady pace, a single trip in the Ain Dubai seems to end too soon, especially if you are someone who loves taking photos and videos and documenting your experience for your social media accounts. We didn’t want the ride to end!
If you can’t get enough of Ain Dubai, you can visit the gift shop downstairs. You’ll find a wide array of souvenirs to take home with you, like T-shirts, cups, and water bottles.
Ain Dubai was one of the most widely anticipated attractions that opened in 2021. Tourists visiting Dubai for the first time should never miss this ride because it provides a different vantage point of this bustling city.
The pace and overall experience of an Ain Dubai ride is rather smooth, plus the views are stellar. They are to die for – but don’t forget to charge your camera or your mobile phone!
